The Central New England Railroad was founded by A.J. Belliveau, of A.J. Belliveau Railroad Construction in Newington, CT.
Trackage consists of the old New Haven Railroad's ARMORY BRANCH from South Windsor to the Mass state line in Enfield, CT. The second piece of track is a part of the original CNE trackage starting in Hartford, at the AMTRAK mainline and ending in Bloomfield, CT.
Presently the Griffin Line serves the Home Depot warehouse and, seasonally, a road contractor who uses tank cars. The Armory Branch services a fertilizer distributer.
The following pictures show some of the equipment presently employed in operation this railroad. Several years ago I worked for the company and helped restore the Griffin Line to active service.
